Two students from the article, who plagiarized on their assignments, seems like they are in very similar situation. But they are accused by a bit different reason. They both used idea from some others source, but Marita designated about the source where she got if from, through the internet, but Haley used some other’s idea as her own words without any notification about sources. Similarity between Marita and Haley is they both don’t have idea how to use sources on their assignments. The level of punishment should different between them, because Haley plagiarized on her purpose even though she knew that what she doing is a wrong, but Marita had a lack of knowledge of plagiarism this means she just don’t know how to use sources she got from the encyclopedia. Therefore I think Haley should be punished more strictly than Marita because they did make similar mistakes, plagiarism, but they use their sources for different purpose.
