In Hongik University, where I was in Korea, they usually did not treat students very harsh with plagiarism. Therefore, students copied other’s paper or internet sources. However, some professors began to catch the plagiarism. At first, many students caught for the plagiarism, because copying the assignment was habituation to them. Because it was the first time, professors just worn them.
Some students stop plagiarizing, but others did not. They were caught again, and because it was the second time, they got fail in that class. Most of the students stopped cheating on their paper. There were no more students punished as a plagiarist. However, few month later, one student was caught from the cheating during the exam, and checking his past faults, the examiner(or instructor….I’m not sure…) find out that he was caught for the plagiarism twice and did similar things, plagiarism, several times after than. It is not sure what was punishment, but in rumor, he was dismissed from school.
