The movie "Finding Forestor" (Columbia Pictures, 2000) shows one more story of student who plagiarized on particular assignment. There are several differences and similarities exist among them,Jamal,Haley, and Marita, the major similarty is they used other's idea and made them as their own idea on their first given writting assignment. The significant difference is their motivation when they started writting. Even though, only Marita designated where the source came from,Jamal and Marita used ideas for improving their writting but Haley used other's just for finishing up her assignment for English class. Their background and educational environment are different from each other, in this reason the way they found sources is different. Jamal recieved idea directly from William Forestor, former famous writter, but Haley and Marita found their ideas through indirect way such as using internet, encyclopidea, and etc. At last, fortunately Jamal and Marita recieved another chance and forgiveness from school councils, but Haley was expelled from her high school by academic misconduct.

According to the movie, "Finding Forrester", Jamal Wallace is a sixteen and had attended a high school in Bronx where he was born. He is an african-american and has his mother and brother. While he was an average "C" student in the school, he has remarkable writing skills and he is good at playing basketball. For his good score on the state standardized exam, he was suggested to go to a prvite school, Mailor-Callow school, and was sent to there with full scholarship. Jamal met a famous author, William Forrester, and they became friends.

In the article of "Are Your Kids Cheating", Haley Lodge was a junior at Hawken school in Gates Mills. She has blue eyes and blond hairs. Her family is wealthy: her fathe, David, is president of Home Savings Bank in Youngstown and her mother also does voluntter work. Her older sister was attending at college and her younger brother was staying at home.

In "The Politics of Remediation", Marita was a freshmen student at UCLA. There are not much information about her background. Her father has influenced Marita and he suggested her not to speak unless she knows everything. Based on that, her plagirism happened.
After sent to the Mailor-Callow school, Jamal has faced a big problem with his professor, Robert

Crawford. Professor Crawford considered Jamal's papers were too good to consider as high school 's students' works. Therefore, he asked Jamal to bring his another own works to prove. Even though promising with William that he will not take any papers working in William's house, Jamal turned in one of them. Professor Crawford found plagiarism from his papers. Jamal had to work something out to overcome.

Haley was a high school student and daughter of wealthy parents. She knew that it was wrong when she was copying the paper. The worse thing was that she plagiarized because of her neglect. However Marita was the university student but her home education prevented her from think creative so she need other materials to wrote her paper and she had not knew that she was plagiarizing. Jamal was a middle school student who lived in Bronx. He was good at writing but he turn over the paper which is not his original work.

Jamal who lived in Bronx had a chance to admission to the private school Mailor-Callow as a scholarship student. However, his English teacher had a prejudice to him. Therefore the teacher treated Jamal harsh and tried to find out his faults. For that reason, Jamal should always handed over the good paper and that made him to do a plagiarism.

Authors presented the Haley, Marita and Jamal in their article focusses on the plagiarism in their own way.
Haley was junior in the high school, Marita was a freshman student at UCLA while Jamal was a high school student. There is a similarity between these that they all plagiarized in their own way.Haley and Jamal could be defined same as they both plagiarized purposely. But in case of Marita, she does not know that she is plagiarizing. Jamal and Haley both belong to good background family but still they don't take the advantage of a good family. All these characters depend on the outside resouces for their work rather than independent.
In each step of Jamal's life he has to face challenges which he overcome with a good way according to him. He was a brilliant basketball player but he was average in the studies. He has to write an paper on the auhtor which he does not want to do so he decide to take the help of a famous author William Forrester for his writing. He also has to face the race difficulity which always makes him feel bad.He also has to write an apology letter to all teh students for teh plagiarozed work that he has done. As Jamal was just average in the studies so the school does not want him in the school. He is beng invited by the private school Mailor Callow due to his ability to play good basketball and some skills which needed for that school.

Jamal was brilliant student. The head of the Mailor Callow school advised Jamal to come to his school. His mother send him to that school. In the school Robert Crawford was his English teacher. Robert Crawford told his students to write a composition. Jamal submitted his composition to his teacher. After going through his composition Robert Crawfort understand that Jamal had written this composition from hearing elsewhere. So, he accused Jamal of plagiarism.

Though every argument proceeds from the arguments of other's, Marita does not know how to create a proper balance between her writing and someone else's. In spite of her mentioning the encyclopedia and her English text book as her references on the bottom of her assignment, she needs to understand the copying of another's writing is also plagiarism. The idea of cheating was not clear to Marita. She thought that she disclosed her unfair means on the bottom of her assignment. But chiting another's idea, thoughts and creations is also an act of cheating, because it was not her own.I Partially disagree with the counselor's statement towards Marita. Her teacher accused her of plagiarism, so the decision about giving her a second chance to write the assignment should come from her teacher. Though she disclosed her misdeed, she should be punished. If she is not punisher, she will make plagiarism a habit.

Compare the backgrounds of Jamal, Haley and Marita. What challenges did Jamal face in his life? What, if any, difficulties did he overcome to achieve the honor of going to the Mailor-Callow school?
